One of the most important events in United States presidential elections is the concession speech. After months of campaigning in an emotional quest for power, it is the concession speech that tells the losing candidate's staffers and supporters, "It's over, and it's time to unite behind the new president." It defeats the purpose of the concession speech if after conceding you tell your millions of supporters to "resist" the new president.
