'Concede'

According2Sam #225

One of the most important events in United States presidential elections is the concession speech. After months of campaigning in an emotional quest for power, it is the concession speech that tells the losing candidate's staffers and supporters, "It's over, and it's time to unite behind the new president." It defeats the purpose of the concession speech if after conceding you tell your millions of supporters to "resist" the new president. President Trump gets a lot of criticism for not conceding that he lost the 2020 election, although the same people overlook the fact that after conceding to Trump in 2016, Hillary Clinton told her supporters to resist the Trump presidency, that he was illegitimate, and that she had been robbed. How are Clinton's actions after the 2016 election similar to Trump's actions after the 2020 election? Join the conversation and get answers to this question and more on According2Sam episode #225.
